For the second year in a row, KeyTrak, the leading provider of key and asset management systems, will attend the annual conferences sponsored by the Association of College and University Housing Officers upper Midwest (UMR-ACUHO), mid-Atlantic (MACUHO), Great Lakes (GLACUHO) and intermountain (AIMHO) regions this November.

With data from the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Higher Education indicating that crimes such as burglaries, sex offenses and even murder are steadily rising among university housing facilities in the contiguous United States, university housing officers are faced with the challenge of controlling access to housing facilities. At the conferences, KeyTrak will show housing officers how its electronic key control systems can help meet this challenge.

“By reducing unauthorized access to keys, housing officers can help keep students safe and reduce their property’s risk of loss, liability and lawsuits,” said KeyTrak Vice President of Sales Richard Battle. “The ACUHO conferences give us the chance to meet with housing officers across the country and show them how electronic key control can help them improve their facility’s security.”

KeyTrak’s high-security Guardian Versatile Smart Panel (VSP) systems stores keys in a tamper-resistant steel panel that only authorized users can access via one or more authentication methods, such as the built-in fingerprint reader, an optional proximity card reader or user-specific passcodes. When a key is removed, the Guardian system creates a 100 percent automatic verifiable audit trail, reducing the risk of security breaches.
