Attaching and Removing Secure Rings

Our Guardian system uses secure rings to attach keys. To attach or remove these rings, you’ll need a closer, crimper, and cutter. All these items are available at keytrak.com/supplies.

First, thread the ring through the key and use the closer to close the gap. You can use the thumbscrew to adjust the gap as needed.

Use the crimper to seal the edge. To ensure a good seal, align the roller wheel on the crimper in between the groove on the secure ring and the junction of the two ends of the ring.

Once aligned, squeeze the crimper to seal the secure ring.

To ensure a strong connection, roll the secure ring forward and backward before releasing the tension on the handle.

When removing the ring, use the cutter to open the rings. Place the cutter at the crimped seal for best results.
